GDPR

The Data Protection Act has now been superseded by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) which came into effect on the 25th May 2018.

This new set of regulations are intended to strengthen and unify data protection controls across the EU, bringing the DPA up-to-date with the events and technology changes that have occurred since it was implemented in 1998.

In order to comply with these new regulations we are required to state what, if any, information we hold about our clients, and how securely such data is held.

We keep minimal data that can identify you as a person (such as name, address, phone number and possibly email addresses), and any data we need with regard to your vehicles (such as registration number, MoT due date and service history). Some of this data is required for HMRC taxation purposes, the rest is to keep in contact with you, and to send reminders (in the case of MoT due dates). All of this data is required to enable us to give you the best service we can – we hold no data that cannot be justified by the needs of the work we do, but in accordance with the new regulations, should you wish us to delete any or all of this data, please notify us in writing or by email (which will shortly be available via this website) .
This data is kept secure within our garage data systems, which are rarely on-line.

We will never use this information for anything other than contacting the client.

We will never pass this information on to anyone else.
